Heart diseases are said to be the diseases that include anything that involves the heart. Strokes, blood pressure and coronary heart diseases are the most common causes of deaths that relate to heart diseases. As CBD has shown tremendous opportunities in treating various medical conditions, it can also be used to deal with a number of heart diseases. People often claim that consuming CBD is the best thing one can do for the health of the heart. Many problems that lead to heart failures or other heart conditions can be solved by the daily usage of CBD as supplements and not medication.
CBD has been proved to be anti-arrhythmic as well as tissue sparing in an in vivo rat model of coronary artery occlusion. This study was conducted by Hepburn, Walsh and Wainwright at The Robert Gordon University to investigate that either the anti-rhythmic effects of CBD are altered by the administration of CB1 receptor antagonist AM251. The groups were divided and were treated with CBD alone, AM21 alone, CBD followed by AM251 and AM251 followed by CBD. Both the CBD andAM251 reduced the effects of VT. Though AM251 followed by CBD showed more promising results in the animals and the anti-rhythmic effects were more pronounced as compared to all the other groups. Thus the co-administration of AM251 and CBD proved that the simple agonist/antagonist relationship in correspondence of CB1 receptor may not be able to provide ant arrhythmic effects alone. The ability of CBD and AM251 to treat arrhythmias proves that endocannabinoids have pro-rhythmic effects due to the CB1 receptor.
Heart attack patients and cannabisIn the journal of PLOS one, Aurora Co revealed that heart failure patients who use cannabis are less likely to die during hospital visits in comparison to those who do not test positive for cannabis. The researchers in the care of the University of Colorado reported that cannabis-using patients were not as likely to die, develop shocks or need an intra aortic balloon pump after the acute myocardial infarction (AMI) than patients who did not use cannabis. These results stated that the consumption of cannabis was not related to adverse outcomes after AMI. They stated that further investigation must be done to rule out the relation between the absorption of cannabis and improved outcomes after the AMI.
A review of 2013 found very promising effects of CBD on the cardiovascular health of a person. It revealed that CBD can act as a potent vasorelaxant. Vasorelaxation is related to the decrease of vascular pressure or the tension in the wall of the blood vessels of the heart. The review highlighted that CBD in relation to the treatment of diabetes, cancer, colitis and Huntington’s disease, is also beneficial for the cardiovascular system. Vasorelaxation is achieved by the direct action of CBD on the arteries which leads to a reduction of blockage of arteries. It also concludes that the survival and death of white blood cells are influenced by CBD as well as the migration of white blood cells and platelet aggregation.
One of the reasons for CBD proving beneficial in some of the heart diseases is that it relaxes the walls of the heart arteries which lead to a reduction of tension in the blood vessels. The decrease in the overall permeability of the arteries also helps in getting rid of increased glucose responses which are very common in the patients with heart dysfunction.
CBD has the ability to inhibit the production of endotoxin, which is the family inflammatory cytokines. By inhibiting these cytokines CBD has the potential to completely kill heart diseases because they contribute to the advancement of heart disorders. Due to this, CBD possesses anti-inflammatory properties and tends to be a great antioxidant. Since inflammation is one of the biggest causes of the tissue damage which results in the reduction of the supply of oxygen and blood to the heart. CBD by reducing inflammation inhibits tissue damage and also provide protection against existing damage.
The buildup of arterial plaque is also a big contributing factor to the development of heart diseases. This buildup of plaque leads to the difficulty in pumping blood and the heart finds it harder to do its work. CBD though has been linked to reducing building of plaque on the arteries of the heart, due to which it is considered to be a good source in dealing with heart diseases. Since these conditions increase the possibilities of a person to develop heart failures, CBD because of its qualities helps in inflammation and plaque and leads to better working of the heart.
The regular consumption of CBD leads to increased blood circulation and helps in heart dysfunction, scar tissue, and irregular heartbeat, sugar related diseases which contribute to the increased health of the heart. It also helps in reducing hypertension and can also be used to decrease the deficiency of the naturally occurring endocannabinoids. It also provides protection against Doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy by assisting energy function and repair and growth of tissues. It is also studied that a single dose of CBD before ischemia is an effective and secure precaution that lessens heart attack damage. CBD is considered an effective treatment for the heart diseases and is used to regulate the functions of the heart.
CBD has a number of benefits and its connection with heart diseases cannot be underestimated. CBD has various potentials which have been proving to provide help with a number of heart diseases. The impairment of heart function can easily be controlled by incorporating CBD as the part of health regime.
The consumption of CBD regarding one’s health conditions should always be monitored and prescribed by the professionals. Though there are no risks associated with CBD, the daily requirements of CBD supplements are dependent on one’s heart conditions. The qualities of CBD are numerous in the treatment of medical conditions.
