Organic certification

Organic certification helps document that products are grown, handled, and processed according to recognized organic standards.

Organic certification is a process that ensures agricultural products are grown, handled, and processed in accordance with strict standards set by governments or other certifying organisations.

These standards are designed to promote environmentally friendly farming practices, protect consumer health, and ensure that organic products are truly organic.

Why organic certification matters

To become certified organic, farmers and processors must go through a rigorous process that includes regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with the standards. This process can take several months or even years, but the end result is a product that is truly organic and of the highest quality.

In order to maintain their certification, farmers and processors must continue to adhere to the standards and undergo regular inspections and audits. This ensures that the organic products you buy are truly organic and have been produced in an environmentally friendly way.

For farmers

Organic certification allows farmers to document their production methods and market their products as organic.

For consumers

Certification helps consumers identify products that follow recognized organic requirements.

For transparency

Certified organic products are supported by documentation, inspections, and independent verification.

It is important to look for certified organic products when searching for cannabis and hemp products. Many webshops claim their products are organic but fail to provide evidence to support such claims.

Organic certification by COSMOS ORGANIC in Germany

COSMOS Organic certification logo

Our organic skincare products are certified with COSMOS ORGANIC in Germany and have achieved what we consider the highest organic certification standard possible in Europe.

The COSMOS-standard defines the criteria that companies must meet to ensure consumers that their products are genuine organic or natural cosmetics produced according to high feasible sustainability practices.

The COSMOS-standard has been developed at European and international level by BDIH in Germany, COSMEBIO and ECOCERT in France, ICEA in Italy, and Soil Association in the UK.

These organisations are the founders of the COSMOS-standard AISBL, an international non-profit association registered in Belgium, created to define common requirements and definitions for organic and/or natural cosmetics.

The COSMOS-standard

The COSMOS-standard is managed by a not-for-profit, international, and independent association: the Brussels-based COSMOS-standard AISBL.

The founding members, BDIH in Germany, Cosmebio and Ecocert in France, ICEA in Italy, and the Soil Association in the UK, continue to bring their combined expertise to the continuous development and management of the COSMOS-standard.

The COSMOS-standard signature is a consumer guarantee for organic and natural cosmetics that you can trust. To date, over 22,000 products in 70 countries carry the COSMOS ORGANIC or COSMOS NATURAL signature. Over 10,000 ingredients carry the COSMOS CERTIFIED signature. Over 7,000 raw materials carry the COSMOS APPROVED signature.
