Editorial policy: how we write and review our content

Our editorial policy is simple: every guide on Formula Swiss is checked against primary sources, based on our co-founder's first-hand statements, and dated when it is actually reviewed. This page explains who writes our content, where the facts come from, what we will and won't say about our products, and how to report an error.

Who writes our guides?

Our guides are published under the name of Robin Roy Krigslund-Hansen, who co-founded Formula Swiss in 2013 and is responsible for our formulations. First-hand statements in our guides come only from him. Robin is not a doctor or a vet, and our guides do not replace their advice.

Where do our facts come from?

We use primary sources and link them directly:

• Published research: peer-reviewed studies and clinical trials, linked through PubMed, a DOI or the journal.
• Law and official bodies: EU and national legislation, the European Commission, EFSA, national authorities, UNODC and the EU Drugs Agency (EUDA).
• Our production records: certificates of analysis, labels and measurements from our production in Switzerland. When a figure is ours, we say so.

Each guide ends with a numbered list of the sources we opened while writing it. If we can't find a primary source for a claim, we leave the claim out.

How do we use first-hand experience?

Some guides include a short "From our production" box. It contains only statements Robin has made and approved about our own work, such as how our hemp is grown or how we test each batch. We don't write quotes for him, and we don't add anecdotes or numbers he hasn't confirmed.

What we won't say about our products

• Our human CBD oils are cosmetic products for use on the skin, and our pet oils are for external use. We don't recommend taking them by mouth.
• We make no medical claims. Research is described as research: what was studied, in whom (people, animals or cells) and where the evidence is limited or mixed.
• We don't present a study as proof that a product treats, cures or prevents anything.

When do we update the review date?

Each guide shows a "Last reviewed" date. We change it only after a real review of the content, for example when new research is published or a law changes. Fixing a typo or a broken link does not change the date.

How do I report an error?

Email support@formulaswiss.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. We check every report against the source and correct the guide when the error is confirmed.

Do we write about our own products?

Yes. We make and sell the products we write about, and our guides link to them where they fit the topic. Customer reviews follow our review policy: we never edit them, and we never pay for or reward reviews.
