EU Allows Cannabigerol as an Ingredient in Cosmetic Products

The EU Commission has recently added CBG (Cannabigerol) to the CosIng database. This means that CBG is now allowed to be used in cosmetics without any restriction. You can see the entry here.

A brief recap on the ingredients listed in the CosIng catalogue:

  • Hemp leaves are OK
  • CBD naturally-derived is OK
  • CBD synthetic is OK
  • CBG is OK

We are expanding our product portfolio with more products containing CBG as active ingredient.

Please notice that the CosIng catalogue is the database created by the European Commission to provide information on cosmetics substances and ingredients. The Catalogue serves an informative purpose and has no legal value. It serves as a guideline for EU Member States and operators, its ultimate purpose being to harmonise the marketing of cosmetic products across Europe.
